The Anderson County Young Republicans was founded in 2009, and chartered with the South Carolina Federation of Young Republicans in August 2010, to represent college students and young professionals in Anderson County. Our meetings offer young republicans the opportunity to interact with other like minded people, engage in the political process and meet with our elected officials.

Our philosophy is simple; we stand for limited government, returning our Republic to its Constitutional founding, and working hard to ensure that we build a strong base for the next generation of Republicans. Our meetings are held in a relaxed atmosphere and provide our members an opportunity to meet and interact with our elected officials.

The Anderson County Young Republicans also plays a vital role in supporting our party’s candidates during campaign seasons. Volunteering for campaigns is an important way for our members to actively participate in the political process and have an active voice in our own governance.

We are excited about the upcoming elections and are ready to work hard to play a vital role in the future of our State and our Country.

-Drew Gilmer, Anderson County Young Republicans Chairman

Former South Carolina Federation of Young Republicans Chairman, Patrick Haddon was awarded the Young Republican National Federation’s highest award, “Man of the Year” at its biennial convention and awards gala. Patrick’s enthusiasm and dedication to the young people of South Carolina led to his tireless efforts to reorganize South Carolina with the National Young Republican organization. In only two years, Patrick stoked the fire that founded 10 Young Republican organizations throughout the state, which caught the attention and respect of national Young Republican leadership. “We are so proud of Patrick,” said current Chairman, Britton Pruett “it was such an exciting moment to share in one of South Carolina’s own—one of our own—being recognized on a notional stage.”
